The Office of Cultural and Linguistic Competency and the Statewide Cultural and Linguistic Competence Steering Committee—Training Subcommittee have developed an e-learning module ready for upload to your learning management systems. This module is free for anyone who requests it and is entitled, "What is Culture and Cultural Competence?" It is designed to be both an introduction and an exploration of culture; and a guide for implementing Standards for Cultural and Linguistic Appropriate Services (CLAS) in our organizations. CLAS Standards are used by the Joint Commission and CARF to assist in accreditation evaluations.
SAVE the zipped training module and upload the module to your learning management system.
If your organization does not have a learning management system, access this module on the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Learning Management System.
