Office of Developmental Services Training Opportunities

Here you will find a centralized source of learning opportunities for providers of developmental services.  The focus is on new DBHDS initiatives, strategies, practices and processes that are intended to improve services and support.  Included are orientations, workbooks, course calendars, information about available and future courses, and links to Web-based training classes.

Provider Staff Requirements

The Staff Orientation Workbook is required for all providers of MR Waiver Residential Support and Personal Assistance services. It is recommended for providers of MR Waiver Day Support and Prevocational services. The answer key may be obtained by a program supervisor/administrator through your Community Resource Consultant.

College of Direct Support (CDS)

The College of Direct Support (CDS) is a comprehensive, interactive, web-based training curriculum for direct support staff and supervisors. It has been developed and reviewed by nationally recognized content and training experts and is currently being used across disabilities nation wide. It is applicable for all facility and community service providers, as well as others interested in the state of the art in the field of developmental disabilities. Residential, Personal Assistance, Day Support, Prevocational, and Case Management agencies will find it particularly useful in meeting staff training requirements.
