Mental Health Planning Council Officers

At the December 13, 2005 Mental Health Planning Council meeting, the officers for 2006 were elected by the membership. I am pleased to announce and congratulate the newly elected Mental Health Planning Council officers for 2006. The Officers are:

President                           Jack Wood, Director, Catawba Hospital
VP Adult Services             Mary Kaye Johnston, Program Manager, DRS
VP Children’s Services      Fran Gallagher, Executive Director, Medical Home Plus
Secretary                          Alison Hymes, Consumer Advocate
 

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the outgoing officers who served so admirably over the past years.

The planning Council provides an invaluable opportunity for public involvement in mental health planning and policy development. The Council members' role encompasses active advocacy for a more responsive service system and assistance in the monitoring, implementation and oversight of service system objectives of Virginia's Mental Health Plan.

Please join me in welcoming and congratulating the new officers and in expressing thanks to the previous year’s officers. Our system of care is made better by the work of these dedicated individuals who share so willingly of their time and expertise
