Co-Occurring Disorders (VASIP/COSIG)


In 2004, the Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), was awarded a five-year, $3.5 million grant from the federal Substance Abuse and  Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to enhance the screening, assessment and treatment of co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse throughout Virginia’s 40 local community services boards (CSBs).
