Substance Abuse Certification for Practitioners Treating Adolescents

Office of Child and Family Services logo The NAADAC National Certification Commission (NCC) has introduced a new credential designed to address the need for professional competencies for practitioners treating adolescents with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs). The Adolescent Specialist Endorsement (ASE) is the first credential intended to concentrate on the adolescent population. It corroborates the specialized experience and training of adolescent addiction professionals while promoting an obligation to provide the highest quality of care for those served. This credential was developed through the work of the NAADAC Adolescent Specialty Committee (ASC). The mission of this committee is to advocate for the effective clinical services addressing prevention and treatment for adolescents impacted by substance abuse disorders. ASC collaborated with NCC to develop this formal recognition of providers with a demonstrated expertise in working with substance abusing adolescents.
