- - Community Resource Pharmacist (Pharmacist II)

Job Description: Community Resource Pharmacy (CRP): Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services. This a leadership position within the Division of Services and Supports for the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services. The CRP provides statewide mail order pharmacy services to individuals served through the 40 community services boards and behavioral health authorities. Position supports ongoing CRP system improvement efforts, including automation of pharmacy operations, inventory control, purchasing, and works to promote collaborative service operations. Plans and implements policies and procedures for local operations, within guidelines established by industry standards of the practice of pharmacy and other state or federal policies and legal requirements. Position may also include program development; monitoring and/or inspection of Community Mental Health care partners to assure compliance with the pharmacy services policies and procedures; assures the proper distribution of dispensed prescriptions in a mail order / centralized filling pharmacy operation. Develops and implements program monitoring methodologies, plans and monitors corrective action; Responsible for coordinating work and supervising employees. Provides statewide professional, technical and operational pharmacy expertise to ensure operation within federal and state regulations and assists in the management of the pharmacy. Qualification: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy; current Virginia Pharmacist License (no restrictions); broad range of experience and knowledge in pharmaceutical services and third party billing procedures; previous supervisory and management experience in the operations of a pharmacy; experience with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, is highly desirable. Advanced degree (MS, Pharm D), American Society of Health-System Pharmacist Residency or Board of Pharmaceuticals Specialty certification is desirable.

Salary: Pay Band 6, Salary Negotiable
