- Mental Health Facility Operations Manager
Job Description: The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is seeking an accomplished professional to work with the Assistant Commissioner of Behavioral Health as the Mental Health Facility Operations Manager to provide leadership, direction, management and support for the inpatient and facility-related operations of the Behavioral Health Division. Duties include implementation of agency Vision and CO values, policy development, strategic and operational planning as part of the OBH team; project development, implementation and management; oversight and monitoring of DBHDS facility operations and QI processes, including organizing, implementation, analysis and follow-up of JC, OIG, CMS, and consultant findings and recommendations; collaboration with other DBHDS offices and teams, other state agencies and legislature, community and facility providers, consumers, families, advocates and other stakeholders. The incumbent will have particular responsibilities to oversee DBHDS’ Annual Consultative Audits and other activities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state mental health facilities. The incumbent will also provide active monitoring and oversight of regional DAP and LIPOS operations. Frequent, regular in-state travel to facilities and regional community partnership required. Integrate and coordinate community and facility care. Position will plan, direct and assign the work of the MH Facility Operations Specialist. 25% travel required. Qualifications: Behavioral health experience, including management experience, across the continuum of care including facility and community services. Knowledge and experience in facility operations, nursing, social work, psychiatry, psychology, other services, as well as contemporary concepts and approaches for service delivery, evidence based practices and recovery-oriented person-centered care in hospital and community settings. Familiarity with public sector behavioral health service delivery systems. Ability to communicate succinctly and effectively; ability to follow through successfully on projects and assignments independently; ability to create and sustain effective relationships and liaison with facility staff, central office departments, CSB and other stakeholders and constituents as required. Ability to adapt quickly and adjust workload to accommodate competing priorities. Flexibility and ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively. Ability to work with diverse groups of professionals and facilitate organizational change. Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel. Knowledge of psychiatric hospital operations, regulations (Joint Commission, CMS, DOJ, and other regulatory or standard-setting bodies), and best practices in hospital and community operations. Background in Public Administration, Hospital Administration, Nursing, Psychology, or Social Work with strong management experience. Masters Degree in management or related health care field and experience with High Performance Organizational (HPO) theory preferred.
