- Registered Nurse Community Integration Consultant

Job Description: The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Servicesí Division of Developmental Services is seeking an energetic, proactive individual to provide nurse specialty consultation services and support to integrate individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities via diversion, transition, and the PreAdmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) process. This position serves as the primary resource for clinical and technical knowledge that supports the needs of each resident to live in community and will work with Community Integration Managers, Office of Mental Health PASRR Consultant, PASRR Contractors Community Resource Consultants and other stakeholders to assist in identifying the need for further development of community based services and supports. Qualifications: The successful candidate must be Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Virginia, with extensive knowledge of principles, practice standards, scope of practice, clinical nursing and case management. Must be a proactive learner, become an expert in the PASRR process (within three months), and willing to obtain any necessary certification to be competent in the special services required for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The candidate must have excellent relationship building, written, and oral communication skills; and an ability to develop, implement, and monitor established policies, procedures, laws, rules, regulations, guidelines and standards within area of clinical responsibility to become proficient in state-wide and regional community resources that would enable community-based living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, (especially those that have high medical support needs) is essential. Case management or similar experience is preferred. BS Degree within two years is required.
