Crossroads - CROSSROADS CSB - THERAPIST / LICENSED CLINICIAN - Farmville Clinic
Job Description: The incumbent is responsible for the provision of outpatient clinical services, consultation and education services within the assigned program site. He/she provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment through a variety of modalities and procedures for those individuals suffering from mental illness, emotional disorders, co-occurring disorders, substance abuse and developmental disabilities. He/she provides crisis intervention, pre-screening for hospitalization, and referral for community support services. He/she may provide supervision to staff as per professional qualifications. He/she is directly responsible and accountable to the Clinic Supervisor. OSHA regulations apply to this position. This position is designated as a Level Two with regard to the HIPAA Privacy Rule. The position is exempt for FLSA. KNOWLEDGE OF: 1. Mental illness, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders including disability diagnosis, crisis and clinical intervention, behavior management, treatment management, clinical assessment and diagnosis, psycho-tropic medications and effects. 2. Community organization principles. 3. DSM IV, diagnostic categories and application to assessment and treatment planning. 4. Psychotropic medications, uses and side effects. 5. Case management functions and service delivery. 6. Regulations relevant to service delivery and third party payers. 7. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) security and privacy regulations as they relate to the protection of confidential medical information and personal health information as required by law, professional ethics and accreditation requirements. SKILLS IN: 1. Clinical assessment, crisis and clinical intervention, and other service delivery. 2. Effective coordination, organization, and record keeping. 3. Effective interpersonal skills in dealing with clients, staff and community agency personnel. 4. Working independently as well as function as a member of the treatment team. 5. Effective written and oral communication. 6. Creative problem solving. OTHER: 1. The incumbent must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to fulfill the job requirements. 2. A graduate level degree in the human services field is required. 3. The incumbent must be licensed by the Virginia Board of Behavioral Sciences as a LCP, LCSW, or LPC. 4. The incumbent must be a Certified CSB Pre-screener. 5. Previous work experience with the mentally disabled or substance abusing population in areas of counseling and treatment is required. 6. Experience in crisis intervention with mental health/substance abuse population is preferred. 7. A flexible schedule may be required to meet the needs of the agency/program. Travel throughout the catchment area may be required. Starting Salary up to $50,078 with excellent fringe benefits. Reimbursement of relocation expenses up to $2,000 available to qualified applicant.
