Portsmouth Behavioral Healthcare Services - Clinician Assistant (Intellectual Disability) - Three (3) part time positions

Job Description: The incumbent will assist in the operational, administrative and counseling functions in a intellectual disability program. Will insure consumers’ safety; assist in developing individual service plans, plan day support/vocational activities, transport consumers, supervise consumer activities and perform crisis intervention and management of aggressive behavior. Part time hours may be up to 32 hours per week; hours are 8:45 am - 3 pm, Monday – Friday. EDUC/EXP: Associates degree or two years of college with course work in Social Work, Psychology, Education or related human services field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1-2 years related experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid VA Driver’s license and a food handler’s card. Qualified applicants may be given a conditional employment offer. Actual employment is contingent upon the satisfactory results of a federal and state criminal background check, using fingerprints and a search of the Virginia Department of Social Services’ Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, as required by law.

Salary: $13.05 per hour
