Richmond Behavioral Health - Residential Counselor II
Job Description: Full-time position to perform intermediate paraprofessional work teaching living skills, providing housekeeping, personal assistance and transportation services to clients in a group home setting. The successful candidate should possess knowledge in the following areas: basic personal health care and home management methods; behavior management and crisis intervention; community resources. The incumbent should also have the ability to: work with intellectually disabled, elderly, and other special population clients; carry out health aid work and perform homemaker duties; practice sound hygiene and sanitation techniques; communicate ideas effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and associates. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in psychology, human services or related field and some experience working with special populations is required. Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
Salary: $27,592.50 annually
