Portsmouth Behavioral Healthcare Services - Psychiatric Nurse (Mental Health)
Job Description: The City of Portsmouth Department of Behavioral Healthcare Services seeks a highly motivated individual to provide medication management and other support services to the chronic mentally ill, co-occurring and substance abuse population. EDUC/EXP: Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program; with 3 – 5 years of progressively responsible experience providing psychiatric nursing services; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Requires licensure as a registered nurse. Certification as a psychiatric nurse is preferred. Qualified applicants may be given a conditional employment offer. Actual employment is contingent upon the satisfactory results of a federal and state criminal background check, using fingerprints and a search of the Virginia Department of Social Services’ Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, as required by law.
Salary: $32,983 – 43,702
