Hampton Newport News - HPR-V START COORDINATORS
Job Description: Performs preliminary mental status assessments and short-term crisis intervention primarily at the assigned Community Services Board/ Behavioral Health Authority; however, may provide services across the region. Makes referrals or coordinates admissions to treatment services as part of the Regional START Clinical team. Recruiting for nine (9) START Coordinators to be assigned to each of the CSB / BHA in HPR-V. Provides 24/7/365 response to crisis situations according to on-call schedule. START – Systematic Therapeutic Assessment Respite and Treatment is a linkage model to promote a system of care in the provision of community services, natural supports and mental health treatment to individuals with intellectual and developmental disability and mental health needs. REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or Counseling) and three (3) years clinical experience serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including programming for individuals with significant behavioral needs. Requires knowledge of the MH/DD/SA system. Current VA license as a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) preferred.
