Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck - Behavioral Specialist
Job Description: Under general supervision, employee is responsible for the direct support needs of children, and adolescents at risk of an out of community placement due to emotional and behavioral issues that interfere with their functioning in the normal school environment. Work involves providing individual, group, and family counseling as well as implementing behavioral plans in the classroom and crisis intervention to children in the school setting. Employee will design and implement thorough individualized service plans to address problem behaviors and provide service coordination. Employee is responsible for completion of daily progress notes and maintaining client records to include: daily activity logs, client eligibility paperwork, proper releases and initial opening paperwork, Individualized Service Plan (ISP), quarterly progress reviews and discharge summaries when necessary. Employee is assigned to school locations and operates based on school schedules and well as providing Day Treatment services to children in a summer program. Employee must exercise considerable initiative and judgment in the effective and efficient administration of departmental programs. Employee must also exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, clients, families, public, and service providers. Reports to the Therapeutic Day Treatment Coordinator. Salary: $28,000-$32,000/ Depending on Experience
