Portsmouth Behavioral Healthcare Services - PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR (INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY)
Job Description: The City of Portsmouth Department of Behavioral Healthcare Services is seeking a highly motivated, professional, self reliant individual committed to managing the provisions of employment, habilitation and day support services to adults with cognitive disabilities and/or developmental delays. Work involves managing program planning, administration, staffing clinical services delivery, consumers rights, community relations and ancillary operations. Educ/Exp: Master’s degree in administration, special education, social work or a related human services field. Requires 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in planning, developing and implementing services and programs for consumers with cognitive and developmental disabilities, to include supervising clinical staff; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be a Qualified Mental Retardation Professional (QMRP). Licensure as a professional counselor or rehabilitation provider preferred. Qualified applicant may be given a conditional employment offer. Actual employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of a federal and state background check, using fingerprints and a search of the Virginia Department of Social Services’ child abuse and neglect registry, as required by law.
Salary: $46,409 – 61,492
