Hampton Newport News - START COORDINATOR
Job Description: Performs preliminary mental status assessments and short-term crisis intervention primarily at the assigned Community Services Board/ Behavioral Health Authority; however, may provide services across the region. Makes referrals or coordinates admissions to treatment services as part of the Regional START Clinical team. Recruiting for START Coordinators to be assigned to each of the CSB in HPR-V. Provides 24/7 response to crisis situations according to on-call schedule. START Systematic Therapeutic Assessment Respite and Treatment is a linkage model to promote a system of care in the provision of community services, natural supports and mental health treatment to individuals with intellectual and developmental disability and mental health needs. REQUIREMENTS Masters Degree in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or Counseling) and two (2) years clinical experience serving individuals with mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities, including programming for individuals with significant behavioral needs. Requires knowledge of the MH/DD/SA system. Current VA license as a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) preferred. CURRENT DMV RECORD WITHIN THE PAST 60 DAYS MUST ACCOMPANY APPLICATION. Please indicate your preferred CSB assignment of choice on the HNNCSB application.
