Southside - Lead MH Therapist
Job Description: Southside Community Services Board (SCSB) seeks lead clinician for its Mecklenburg Behavioral Health Center in Boydton, Virginia, to provide overall clinical supervision of facility. Incumbent performs individual and group therapy to seriously mentally ill individuals, performs assessments, determines diagnoses and appropriate treatment. Provides/coordinates emergency services in provision of prescreenings and implementation of psychiatric hospitalization; consults with psychiatrist; makes referrals to residential placements; and coordinates/utilizes community resources. Supervises and evaluates performance of subordinate staff, oversees clinic’s Electronic Health Records and ensures case documentation/records meet clinical standards and state licensure/Medicaid regulations. Master’s degree in human services (preferably social work) required; must be Virginia licensed (LCSW or LPC) with documented outpatient clinical experience, crisis intervention, supervisory and management experience. Must maintain strict confidentiality, possess effective communication/documentation skills, valid driver’s license, and meet all criminal background and drug screening requirements. Salary is negotiable with excellent benefits. Position open until filled.
