Richmond Behavioral Health - Unit Manager, Center-based Day Support Services
Job Description: DUTIES: Develops and maintains on-going community and center resource options (volunteer placements, recreation options, etc.) maintaining active lists of contacts; coordinates services with staff, consumers, families, and other providers; insures and provides back-up for the supervision and training of consumers in the Day Support Services unit by establishing, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans; provides transportation for consumers; monitors Individual Service Plans (ISP), case assignments, preadmission screenings, staff outreach, training projects, progress notes, discharge summaries, and unit productivity, making recommendations which would maximize fees and insure current accurate treatment plans completions; develops unit reports regarding the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) performance contract; provides direct supervision to unit staff, coordinating daily operations and program development; insures that unit complies with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing requirements; participates in the hiring and terminating of unit staff; participates in the development and monitoring of unit budgets, maintaining expenditures within budget allowances; provides and supervises consumer emergency crisis interventions; completes and updates various unit reports with regard to unit activities; informs supervisors of unitís progress toward program goals, noting any potential and/or current staff and/or consumer issues; coordinates unit staff meetings; aids in the implementation of unit goals and objectives, evaluating services in order to assure successful implementation, quality care, and consumer satisfaction; monitors staff documentation in consumersí records and the Highlands Community Servicesí (HCS) management information system; develops and sustains good public relations and community involvement; conducts staff supervisions and performance evaluations on new and current employees, using objective and sound decisions; provides in-service trainings and orientations to new staff; develops, implements, and evaluates the programís quality improvement plan, including the monitoring of peer reviews, record reviews of supervision cases, reviews of unit standards, and consumer satisfaction surveys, as well as health and safety management programs and the Unusual Incident Reporting (UIR); assures that staff attend needed mandatory trainings, coordinating schedules accordingly; aids in the establishment of staff performance standards, and monitors staff activities to insure attainment and management of those standards; assures that employees can report problems or concerns via a variety of communication channels without fear of reprisal or retaliation; supports professional development of staff by coordinating schedules which allow for training opportunities; expands self knowledge and education through appropriate training opportunities; develops, coordinates, and implements a unit service plan through needs assessments, risk factor analyses, and future services identification; aids in HCSí strategic planning process; coordinates minor facility maintenance; and attends staff meetings as scheduled. POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelorís degree in human services and extensive experience in a management position with the ID population.
