Highlands - Unit Manager, Adult Crisis Stabilization Services - #3026

Job Description: Crisis Recovery Center - Provides oversight to HCS Crisis Stabilization Program for Adults, demonstrating a philosophical framework that honors consumer choice and a belief that all persons can learn and grow, given an array of services that meets their needs; attends HCS Adult Services staff meetings to promote the stabilization program with people who are stepping down from psychiatric hospitals, experiencing role transitions within current living environments, and demonstrating crises through evidence of stressors, early warning signs and absence of supports; supervises performance of Crisis Stabilization staff, monitoring overtime, managing schedules and responding to requests for assistance; authorizes initiation of Crisis Stabilization services immediately upon appropriate referral, coaching staff on time lines to complete daily logs, assessments, group and individual sessions, daily progress notes, and program exit summaries; conducts initial face-to-face assessments documenting the need for service and the anticipated duration of need, and obtains approval from LMHP; assures that there will be no breaks in services with consumers in the program; monitors appropriateness of all documentation, assuring that medical necessity is demonstrated and making recommendations to supervisor and HCS staff regarding needed improvements; provides regular reports of activities to supervisor and department director, assuring targets are met each month, including units of service and billing provided per individual; makes recommendations for program development; serves as liaison between HCS and outside agencies, assuring continued growth and coordination of Services; obtain Preadmission Screening status within 3 months of employment. Thereafter, provide preadmission screenings services as needed for consumers unable to be maintained in the community, but instead may require continued treatment on an inpatient basis; coordinates training for supervisees, using local and national resources; seeks opportunities to promote recovery and develop natural supports within the community; promotes a celebration of recovery that assists individuals and their families to occupy healthier and more productive roles in the community; provides direct services to individuals and their families or other significant stakeholders; coordinates regular evaluations of services, including outcomes and consumer satisfaction surveys; meets regularly with supervisor and other staff to promote the program and assure adequate coordination of services by all providers; attends in-service training/staff development as required; conducts self in a professional manner, reflecting mutual dignity and respect at all times; complies with local, state and federal regulations and meet or exceed DBHDS, Licensure, Medicaid, HIPAA and HCS Quality Assurance standards; stay current with all required trainings and continuing CEU credits to maintain Virginia license (if applicable) and Preadmission Screening Certification.
