Highlands - Behavioral Health Specialist
Job Description: Crisis Services - Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA Conduct comprehensive diagnostic clinical assessments and provide consultative services at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Provide preadmission screening services at Johnston Memorial Hospital for consumers in need of urgent mental health, substance abuse, and/or intellectual disability services; referring for further inpatient psychiatric care if needed. Participate as a clinical team member within HCS Psychiatric and Crisis Services in conjunction with medical professionals at Johnston Memorial Hospital (JMH) to assure quality care and consumer satisfaction for those consumers being treated inpatient at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Identify resources in the community for consumers and recommend referrals as appropriate. Provide professional mental health consultation and education to HCS and JMH staff, community agencies, referral sources, individuals and their families. Requires a high energy professional able to develop, communicate, and sustain cooperative working relationships with all. Follow up with physicians, nurses, care coordinators, and social workers to provide on-going communication and to facilitate future referrals. Maintain confidentiality of consumer information at all time, conducts self in a professional manner reflecting mutual dignity and respect at all times. Complies with local, state and federal regulations and meet or exceed DBHDS, Licensure, Medicaid, HIPAA and HCS Quality Assurance standards. POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Virginia Licensed Clinical Social Worker with medical and behavioral health integrative care experience preferred.
