Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck - PSYCHIATRIST

Job Description: One position, Full time, Warsaw Counseling Center Under limited supervision, employee is responsible for working with a diverse psychiatric population. The incumbent provides agency-wide clinical psychiatric services and consultation, and medical support to all mental health, mental retardation and substance abuse programs and services. This is a licensed physician who has completed a psychiatric residency. Work involves the diagnosis of complex psychiatric/medical conditions and the independent formulation of plans of treatment, which may include the prescription of medications. Reports to the Director of Medical Services. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Doctor of Medicine with a completion of an approved residency in psychiatry with license to practice in Virginia. Demonstrated experience in community mental health with persons with serious and persistent mental illness preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Virginia Driver's License. Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results within 30 days of employment and yearly thereafter as required by licensing authority.
