Job Details

District 19 - SA Therapist

Job Description: District 19 Community Services Board has an opportunity for a full time position providing Substance Abuse/MH Outpatient Services to adolescents and adults in Colonial Heights, VA. Essential job duties of this position include: clinical evaluation, individual and group therapy and case management functions. Successful applicant must have: Master’s degree in human services; professional license (LCSW or LPC) through State of Virginia; considerable demonstrated experience providing individual and group therapy to consumers with substance use and co-occurring disorders; adult mental health experience; basic computer skills with adaptability to electronic records; flexibility to work evenings. Preferred qualifications: providing substance abuse services to adults, experience in criminal justice system, crisis intervention and certification as a substance abuse counselor. A bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate is preferred. Starting salary is commensurate with experience and training. Excellent benefits include Virginia Retirement System, group health insurance, paid Sick, Annual, and Holiday Leave, including employee’s birthday. Flexible work schedule, including 4-day work-week, is possible in some positions. Position above requires a valid driver’s license for their state of residence and have a point balance of –6 or higher, Pre-employment extensive background check and drug screening.
